Rumors have indicated that September 7th will be the day that Apple will announce the iPhone 5 release date. A media event is said to be held by Apple to reveal it’s latest creation.
Macrumors have caused quite a stir in the iPhone community recently, with it’s supposedly accurate renderings of the iPhone 5. These renderings spawned from the case schematic which was leaked last month. The schematics were said to be from Chinese case manufacturing companies, who are rumored to have already begun manufacturing these said cases.
Macrumors turned to digital art company CiccareseDesign, to “create high-quality renderings made as closely as possible to the original leaked case designs. Measurements were taken against the original case design leaks, and then imported into 3D modeling software.”
The design company basically reversed engineered the case blueprint to create an accurate rendering of how the iPhone 5 will look like.
Judging from both the “case schematic” leak, and Macrumors’ ingenious idea of creating a render, we can safely say that these depictions have a 99% possibility of being accurate.
These renderings have answered a few questions regarding the iPhone 5′s design. One of them being it’s screen size. Judging by the render, the iPhone will have a 4 inch screen measured diagonally. Although it is not much in terms of growth from the previous iPhone it does mean that there will be approximately 15% more viewing space.
The rendering also shows an “elongated” home button. Which is basically a square inside of a rounded rectangle or oval. This might both prove and disprove some rumors. On one side there is a high possibility of the home button making a comeback, squashing any rumors of a “gesture” system in place of it. On the other side, the elongated button might introduce a swipe enabled home button, which some rumors have suggested to be included in the iPhone 5.
Another feature from the render that is worth noted is it’s similarity to the iPhone 3G or iPod Touch. Apparently Apple will be abandoning the glass back design and will be going back to the aluminum for the iPhone 5.
As September 7th inches closer and closer, anticipation for the Apple’s latest innovation grows even bigger. There is no doubt more leaks and rumors will pop up in the coming weeks, but everyone will save their opinions and thoughts for when it is finally revealed by Apple around 4 weeks time.

GO SPRINT !! I hope the data package is the same price as androids. We had a family plan with the great ATT with 3 iphones , but the package was $100 more than our HTC 4 G ‘s plan
While I do like the design, I will be surprised if this is actually what it ends up looking like. Apply typically makes everything very symmetrical since they don’t intend the device to only be used in portrait mode. The iPad can be used in any orientation (even upside down) and Apple praised themselves for this. The iPhone is marketed as a gaming device in addition to being a phone and the inconsistent edges makes it a little more awkward since you’d be covering up more of one end of the screen than the other end when held in landscape mode. Who knows though… It’s certainly a possibility. I know the majority of people want a bigger screen and less blank margins around the edge, so perhaps this is the best they can do without sacrificing what’s underneath the hood. Can’t wait to find out!
I really hope this is NOT the new design. I really hate the beveled edges. I have the iTouch and the beveled edge gives you very little surface to hold. I’ve actually held it to my ear to see how it would “feel” and it feels very insecure.
Not to mention… with a cell phone, I don’t think thinner is generally better.

I really hope this is what the new iphone 5 will look like, so clean looking and I would die of joy if they released a white version right away. This design looks A LOT better than the one with the aluminum back with the red apple symbol.
I will definitely be buying it if the iphone 5 resembles the ipod touch. The the design of the ipod touch is the best design ever. I’ve played around with all of the newest android phones on the market with 4g and personally if the iphone had the same form factor and a faster processor I would not upgrade it just doesn’t make sense the speed is there but it’s not worth $600.00. Its like having a dual core and a quadcore and your mostly surfing the internet. You can do only so much because of the battery life. When someone is using the touch it always catches my eye.
I think the iphone 4 should have been made with bullet proof glass because the one I have has scratches and has dust size chips when encased in an otter case. Need to mix glass, plastic, and or epoxy to create a super strong glass it has to be a hybrid or mixture the glass has to be soft but at the same time hard. I know that’s oxymoronic. the gorilla glass is no gorilla.

Oops – I forgot to give my opinion – Apple are now more liquid than their own government because of the Iphone and ipad. That is for a reason. They have a clear vision of the future, making sci-fi reality and we should be proud of what they have achieved and remind ourselves how creativity engorged with technology, is showing us amazing examples of what is possible!
All other smart phones/ tablets are just faking it and using Apples innovation to line their pockets. In my opinion they don’t deserve the business and I look forward to the upgrades from apple every year – I mean where will phones be in 20 years time?? Mind boggling!

When I first saw this pic on a different website, i was turned off by it’s design. It was just too odd. But it has sure grown on me. I hope it looks like this.
My only thing i REALLY hope for is that the back is metal or something and not plastic like the 3gS
So sexy looking on the front face of iphone 5. The back should look like ipod touch, probably look cool, I guess and one more thing added, I just hope an improvement in camera lens, the zoom in & out option to play with. I didn’t own an iphone 4, only an iphone 3GS. so I don’t know if iphone 4 has zoom in & out.
I think that we worry so much about the upcoming technology because we don’t want to be the ones left out. I am excited for the new iPhone5 to come out but worry so much about them releasing a new one in the following years.
