iPhone 5 Release Date – This Fall?
Though Apple is yet to confirm a discrete release date for iPhone 5, Verizon is expecting to launch iPhone 5 this fall. The expectation was expressed by newly appointed CEO of Verizon, Lowell McAdam while talking about their balance sheet of last quarter.
McAdam, openly clarified at the press conference that, though they were expecting a summer release for iPhone 5 — but now only a fall release date seems practical. Though he maintained, that it was from their view only and had no confirmation from developer Apple, it’s still enough to make a sensation. While that, the net communities and forums had been buzzing for a long time about possible August release of iPhone 5, this is really something that someone from the major carrier has fuelled such a rumor.
Verizon waiting: Stock prices slowly dipping
Well, the fall release technically sounds quite a distant date — we have our official summer till September. So, what perhaps Verizon is focusing on a September release date too. Verizon is relying heavily on the release of iPhone 5, to make new headway in the business. In close door conversations, they have admitted that their sales growth is suffering for an upcoming iPhone 5 Mega release. It’s the ‘holding pattern’ of the customer which is conducive for the carrier’s growth. They even admitted, they are feeling somewhat helpless — the release date decision would be taken by Apple and till then they just have to wait and see.
What does this mean to us, the customers? Is Apple facing difficulties to keep the deadlines?
Maybe, many among us would just be happy to put a hand on an iPhone 5 and least bother about the carrier. There has been news that this delay is due to technical problems rather than part of a well thought of business strategy. Earlier we had information that battery supplies took a hit due to the earthquake in Japan, things still seems not be perfect yet. Maybe there’s some problem on the manufacturing section which is compelling Apple to push back the release date.
Whatever to be the true reason, we would have to wait for even longer.
Verizon or AT&T; who is having an edge?
Apple’s decision to extend iPhone 5 launches on all the four major carriers across US and this delay to release the smartphone is going to hit Verizon’s plans of winning over a large section of the customers. This extra bit of time seems to suit T-Mobile and Sprint to play a catch-up game and putting up a steady competition to Verizon and AT&T. Deviating from common expectation that iPhone 5 would be ‘inaugurated’ on Verizon and AT&T only, the case may be that customers of these two providers might have to wait even longer, so that Apple can launch iPhone 5 across all the four carriers. AT&T is looking forward to make headway in big and medium towns making their own 4G LTE networks across the United States.
It’s a clash of Titans (read the carriers) to aggressively win over more and more customers of iPhone 5. Let’s keep a watch, how things shape up in future.

Thanks for the information but this is a very poorly constructed article in the grammatical sense. I kept stumbling over the sentences reading it. Just an FYI for future articles
