We all know that an October launch is imminent and a September “reveal” is also to be expected, but as of now no date has yet to be confirmed.
A recent series of leaks and reports involving retail giants Best Buy have emerged, which might pin down the date to 21st October or an even earlier date.
Boy Genius Report claimed to have received a tip in the form of a Best Buy document entitled “Promotional activity”, with a subheading of “week 9/4″.
The speculative document states that:
“iPhone 5 product introduction expected, pre-sales begin for expected week 1 launch / Sprint launches iPhone 5.” It also says “(Apple product information/Launch dates subject to change).”
Another leak involves an “Apple fixture”, which came from Chris Ziegler’s This Is My Next.
A screenshot was posted on TIMN of what is said to be Best Buy’s “National Retail Calendar”, on it, the vague “Apple fixture” is said to be installed at an unnamed Best Buy location on 21st October.
Chris Ziegler also states:
“On a related note, our tipster tells us that Best Buy Mobile managers have a meeting scheduled for October 10th to “discuss upcoming BIG release dates” (emphasis his). Assuming we get an Apple press event for the new iPhone a few weeks in advance, the managers would be well aware of the release date in time to discuss it at that meeting, so that’d support a release on or around the 21st, too.”
Even though all these leaks are good hype for the iPhone 5, it still doesn’t prove much in terms of a solid date. It really just serves as a sort of “guideline” to when it will be released.
If the September press “reveal” by Apple is true, we will very soon know indefinitely when this highly anticipated piece of technology will be released to the public.
Pre-orders this October, I’m really going to get this one!

I have tried to go with android. I would go to the store (AT&T) Take the latest one for a spin. I’m sorry they all just don’t measure up to the iphone. I haven’t had my hands on a galaxy s2 yet. But it looks pretty interesting. As far as flash it seems the industry is going to be dumping it anways. The keyboard on the iphone is so mush better than the little narrow ones on android also. The android phones I’ve played around with are also choppy where the iphone is smooth. I guess I’m going to have to bit the bullet and get a ipad also. So much better setting in my easy chair and with a ipad vs laptop. I don’t put down any of the products because it is just personal preferences. So far nothing has appealed to me more than the iphone. Not that I haven’t been trying…
As far as phones go, I have to say that the iPhone 4 is the best phone I have owned to date. I was never an Apple fan prior to owning the device, but since I have it, I have been appletized! I have been waiting on this device since I bought the iPhone 4 and cannot wait to see how it compares. As far as everyone else goes, we produce Screen Protectors and are eagerly awaiting the iPhone 5 because it seems that everyone is waiting to get this phone.
